We don’t normally go to the dark side but we have on this bike!
This is the super top of the range Midnight Star model that came from the factory with every conceivable option fitted including lockable colour co-ordinated hard bags, windshield, sissy bar, footboards and lashings of chrome to the forks and handlebar controls. This one in particular has also been fitted with the added luggage rack.
The following items have been removed and painted/powder coated black:
– Wheels
– Pulley
– Discs (new expensive titanium bolts)
– Sissy bar
– Luggage rack
– Floorboard mounts
– Gear changer
– Brake pedal
– Engine guards
– Crash bar
We have also had the alloy on the floor boards restored in order to give it that fresh look.
On top of all this the bike has had new head stock bearings, front brake pads, rear suspension bearings, both tyre valves replaced and an oil and filter service.
If you are looking at this bike you probably know that this model represents the absolute pinnacle of both the Yamaha Roadstar range (the European market only offered the Wildstar XV1600 which finished in 2003) and the archetypical metric Cruiser that set out to compete directly with the Harley-Davidson Fatboy.
You will do well to find another Roadstar/Wildstar out there that looks and sounds as good as this one. A lot of time and effort has gone in to make this bike look like it does now and I can confirm the condition is outstanding.
